What types of clients do you specialise in advising?2017-11-26T09:57:30+00:00

The services we offer are primarily geared towards expatriates but we have an increasing number of long term Hungarian resident families as clients, including teachers, accountants, lawyers, business owners and entrepreneurs.

However, it is not so much the type job or career that matters, or even the amount of income or wealth. The type of client we are seeking is one who is has dreams for the future, goals to achieve and sees the need for professional help to get there. It does not matter whether you have little investment experience or if you are a sophisticated investor we have a level of service appropriate for you.

How do you charge for your services and how much?2017-11-26T09:57:29+00:00

We hope that you will be pleasantly surprised to know that we fully disclose the costs of our service up front and before you instruct us to do anything and at each stage thereafter. This is set out in our client agreement, which you will have time to study and accept before you incur any costs.

It might take a few meetings to get to know you. How you got to where you are now – and where you want to get to in the future. What you want to achieve, financially, in the next 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30 years. What’s important to you? What drives you? What is your attitude to risk and capacity for loss? What are your lifestyle expectations? In other words, what do you want your money to do in the first place!

If, after this, you are not ready to make a commitment, there is no charge or obligation.

If you do decide to instruct us to be your professional adviser we will prepare a TRUE Financial Plan for which we charge an hourly fee and give you an initial estimate of the cost, depending on the assessed complexity of the solutions that are needed and the level of experience required from your personal adviser.

If you accept the TRUE Financial Plan and instruct us to implement the plan, we will charge a percentage of the amount to be invested based on a sliding scale that reduces as the amount to be invested increases BUT we will offset from this fee any amount you have paid for the TRUE Financial Plan.

How do you conduct your business?2017-11-26T09:57:29+00:00

CGS tailors the service it provides to its customers according to their different stage of life, their level of investment experience and the complexity of the circumstances for which a solution is needed. The level of investment experience usually determines the level of service required and the complexity determines the amount of time it will take to assess and establish a suitable solution.

CGS offers three broad levels of service, as set out below:

If you are an experienced investor, you will probably have other professional advisers and a comprehensive financial plan in place already. However, circumstances may have changed and become more complex and new situations have arisen where you would value a second opinion.

CGS has combined experience of over 50 years in financial services covering the full range of services for individuals and businesses and connections to industry experts in legal, trust, accountancy, investment and private equity circles. By requesting this service you have access to highly experienced individuals who can become part of your advisory team to help you in your decision making.

If you have had reasonable exposure to investments in the past you probably have some key elements of your financial plan in place already. However, the more you know the more you realise you don’t know and have recognised that you need an experienced professional to help complete your plan and keep you on track.

CGS isn’t in the business of selling investments, it offers a bespoke and holistic financial planning service to suit the specific needs of each individual, family or business.  By selecting this service your coach can help you complete your plan and give you confidence to make your own decisions.

If you have little experience of investment or are lacking confidence in making investment decisions, you may not have given much thought to how you are going to achieve your financial goals or you may have made ad hoc decisions that made sense at the time.

TRUE Financial Planning is the essence of what we do at CGS. It is not about selling you an investment or a pension. It’s about understanding what is important in your life. We want to help you identify your goals in life and help you make sensible decisions about the means you have to achieve those goals.

By selecting this service, your consultant will help you put together a sound financial plan and help you implement it. This is not just a one-off event. Change is normal so it needs reviewing regularly to keep it on track. It’s an ongoing and enduring process.

By planning your finances to meet your goals you will:

  • Have much greater confidence of where you are going in life;
  • Reduce your stress levels and start to enjoy life more.
  • Gain control and peace of mind through knowing whether you are on track for the future you want for you and your family.

Our goal is to be your trusted partner in achieving your goals.

Could I see a sample financial plan?2017-11-26T09:57:22+00:00

Financial plans vary widely according to circumstances. They are all bespoke to a client’s requirements, particularly in respect of their nationality, current and prospective future residence so a sample may have no bearing on what you may require.

However, we can provide a bespoke risk assessment profile on completion of the Risk Profile Questionnaire, if you would like a Free Risk Profile Report, click here.

How much contact do you have with your clients?2017-11-26T09:57:22+00:00

This is entirely up to you. It may take a number of meetings to gather enough information to prepare a plan, discuss it, agree it and implement it.

Once the TRUE Financial Plan, or part of it, is put into operation you will receive on-going maintenance throughout the year, as required.

This means, for example, making sure that the products and providers chosen are performing as expected.It is sometimes necessary to make adjustments – especially in response to market changes.

We also like to keep up to date with your changing circumstances. For example, the person marrying and buying a home today is very different to the single person living with parents who we saw a year ago.Or, the person who was employed a year ago, is now self-employed and running a small business with two staff.In each of these examples, their financial services needs have changed significantly.

All clients are offered at least one full financial review each year to formally appraise the progress your TRUE Financial Plan is making towards meeting your goals. In some cases the recommendation could be quarterly reviews. These are agreed with you after the TRUE Financial Solutions are implemented.

Contact can always be made by phone, email or Skype with your adviser of any of the team during office hours or outside office hours by arrangement.

We also invite our clients to make good use of our knowledge and our ability to tap into areas of expertise that will be useful.We would say to all our clients, please view us as your financial concierge.It will cost nothing to consult with us and could save you money in the long-term.

Will I be working with only you or with a team?2017-11-26T09:57:22+00:00

Initially you will work with one adviser, but you are a client of the company and not the adviser. This means that others within the company will be aware of your plan and solutions so that there can be continuity of support when you need it.

What makes your client experience unique?2017-11-26T09:57:22+00:00

I’ve had bad experiences with Financial Advisers, why should I trust you?2017-11-26T09:57:29+00:00

Unfortunately this is all too common.

Mostly this arise because investments are sold by salesmen with their own interests in mind and are not bought by consumers because they have identified the product as one that meets their goals.

It is also common that investments offered are from a limited range of products provider by the company that the salesman work for.

We aim to change that perception by adopting best practice according to the highest international standards by:

  • Putting your interests first, ahead of our own;
  • Fully disclosing the cost of our services before you commit to working with us;
  • Fully disclosing all material facts particularly the risks, costs and charges related to any proposed financial solution;
  • Providing you with reasons to buy any recommended product by demonstrating its suitability for your personal circumstances;
  • Being independent of any product provider;
  • Disclosing any potential conflicts of interest;
  • Ensuring our staff keep their professional knowledge up to date through regular training;
  • Acting in utmost good faith;
  • Acting prudently with the care, skill and judgement of a professional;
  • Building a relationship for the long term not the short term.
